Ok so now you all can hear the story behind this picture that was taken in a parking lot! I found out that Olin was going to be home (finally) to come with me to a doctor’s appointment. I was supper excited because this was the appointment that we were going to find out what we are having. My appointment was at 4:30. Olin had a rodeo that night so I told Olin I would pick him up at his parents’ house at 4:00 so he could leave his horses. Olin told me that would be fine he would be down there waaaay before that anyway. I called Olin after school about 3:15 and said I was on my way to get him. He informed me at that time that he was just leaving Malad! Oh and for your Information my Doctors office is an hour from Malad. I said ok just hurry we will be cutting it close! Just then he said oh my gosh my semi just stopped. What! I said. He said it just stopped and he would call me right back.
I headed for Ogden kind of worried that he was not going to make it. I got a phone call a few min. later and he told me that he had parked on an angle when he went to pick up his horses so all the fuel drained to one side and the truck ran out of gas. He called a friend who was going to bring him a gas can of 7 gallons of fuel. I asked if that would be enough to get him to Ogden he said no he would have to stop and fill up before he came the rest of the way. He told me that it would take 20 to 30 min. to fill up the huge tanks!!! His friend showed up right then so I could not scream at him! LOL The whole drive down I was telling myself he didn't do this on purpose, he wants to be their too, Serenity now, serenity now.
By the time I got to Ogden it was 4:00 and Olin was just pulling into Tremonton to fuel up. I realized that there was no way he was going to make it in time. I had decided long before I knew the date of what I was having, if Olin could not be there I would just have the doctor write it in a card so we could find out at the same time. I stopped at Wal-Mart to buy a card and headed to the office. When I got their nurse told me The Doctor was running a little behind. I said no worries I’m not in a hurry (hoping Olin could still make it) By the time I got a drink sat down and told Olin to hurry he might still make it, the pager went off!! I called Olin from the room and told him it’s too late!
After the appointment I called Olin to see where I could meet him so we could find out what we were having! Olin said what about Smith and Edwards!!!! I started laughing and said nothing about this pregnancy has gone normal so why not! He told me that he would be there before me so he was going to go in and shop before I got there. I almost lost it right then and their. I said in a very FIRM voice NO wait for me in the parking lot. He knew to agree with me:). When I pulled up Olin walked over and got in the car. I had made signs at school that day so we could tell our family what we were having. I gave Olin the sign and took the picture....So now you know the rest of the story! You got to love rodeo and the crazy boys who do it!
