Burning the Breeze

We start this story back in 2007. While Olin and I were dating he had shaved his goatee into a handle bar mustache. It was so ugly. I had been teasing him over the phone about how he needs to shave it, and he was teasing back about how good he looks. Well later that day he called me up and said that there was some magazine that wanted to take his picture. I started laughing thinking he was still joking with me. Olin said he was serious and it was some magazine named “Bogue”. I yelled do you mean Vogue!!! Right then I knew he was not joking because he would have no idea about that magazine. He said that he told them no because he would make more money in the three days working in his shop then he would “getting his picture taken” (Olin’s words). They said they would see what they could do and get back with him. At this point I was yelling into the phone “you don’t negotiate with Vogue, people would die for this opportunity, and they would do it for free.” Well “Bogue” did call him back and offered him more money so he decided to take the job. They flew him out to California put him up in a hotel for 3 days and paid for his meals. Vogue wanted him to bring a few of his cowboy shirts, ropes, and hats so it would look more authentic. When he got to the photo shoot he said there was food every where and when he was not getting his picture taken he was eating or following the photographer around to see how it all worked. He said that Charlize was a pro at it, she would just be talking and then all of a sudden goes to posing. She was good. He also said she was really nice but he did not talk to her too much because she was so busy. The other models there were mad at Olin because he was the only one that was getting pictures taken. What Can I say they loved him! The models were so mad that they did not come back the next day.
I bet you are all wondering how he was chosen for this. Olin is part of the Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) and Vogue asked them to send pictures of cowboys. They thought Olin was hot stuff!

I think that is so hilarious he turned down "Bogue" :) And that is so awesome they called him back! What a story to tell the grandkids one day :) It was fun seeing you at Shayly's shower. I wish we lived closer, it would be fun to hang out more often.
