Cowboy Take Me Away

Last summer Olin and I bought 24 acers of land in Malad, Idaho. Malad? you ask. We decided to buy there for a few reasons. First, we are going to put Arrowhead Cabinets (Olin's Business) on the property because taxes in Idaho are better for the business then it is in Utah. Second, land in Malad is way cheaper than Utah. Third, Olin's parents also have land in Malad so when the day comes that they might need a little help we will be just about 10 miles down the road from them.
We were so excited to come across this piece of property because it already had a few necessities for horses and cattle. It had a very nice stall barn, hay shed, 3 or 4 lean-to's, the fence was in great condition, and last but not least automatic waters!!! Now don't get me wrong there is still a ton of work to be done. We got started on the clean up last fall. We started by tearing down an old house that they had been using for a cow barn. It was old and was leaning to one side. We need the help of Brian "Jack" of all trades to help bring the house down. The house was leaning to a side that had an automatic water and we did not want to smash it. He brought up his chain saw, and a few very long and strong pieces of rope. Some how the boys rigged up the ropes to the house and to the truck and tractor. It was so cool hearing the wood crack and the seeing this huge house fall down. It was just like you see on movies.

Olin and I are so excited to get to work and see what comes of it. From the words of Dixie Chicks...I wanna look at the horizon and not see a building standing tall. I wana be the only one for miles and miles except for maybe you and your simple smile... Olin all I can say is Cowboy Take Me Away!

I think you have convinced me, a little, that could survive in Malad. That will be a great place to raise your kids!!
